Close Cooperation with Business Schools
The close relationships we have with business schools ensure that the leadership and management competencies central to Holcim core strength are well delivered through study programs. In addition, we run management seminars in cooperation with key universities and the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2007, Holcim launched two new corporate-level seminars through IMD – the Leadership Seminar and the Senior Leadership Program, both of which were designed to develop our staff.

Long Term Development
The leadership seminars run through IMD are part of Holcim’s longer term approach to developing our managers. Those selected as potential future leaders are involved in completing assignments relating to management tasks and 360° assessments designed to gain an insight into their development potential.
Holcim provides up to twelve months coaching after the Senior Leadership Program to consolidate the skills and insights our future managers are developing.

All Management Staff are Included
Our management and leadership development programs at Holcim’s corporate office are aimed at top, senior and selected middle managers. At the same time, a core curriculum for management education has been developed for the 15,000 middle and first line management levels across our business. This combination ensures there is a consistent approach to recognizing and developing our future leaders and managers.
